Third Quarter Language Arts–Reading

DSC_0054
Clarity has recently been showing a lot of interest in learning to read, so we spend time everyday doing some kind of phonic work.  We have many games that we play during our lesson time as well as workbooks that we use to try to cement the letter sounds.  We have just finished long and short vowel sounds, which are the last of the letters we have to cover before moving into more phonic and word family work.  I'll be working with the long and short sounds (as well as vowel combinations and silent e) in the upcoming months using games and movement exercises in our circle time.  As Clarity is able to do more and more the circle time gets more and more fun.  I plan to continue phonic and reading work through the summer as she seems really interested in learning.
